A bicycle trip across southern Utah.
We got to Hite Marina at around 5:30. The cashier had already closed the register, so he had to fumble around a lot to sell us stuff. We'd brought freeze-dried dinner (pasta with beef for Ken, beans and rice for me), because we didn't know how limited the selection at the store would be, but we could have put together a passable dinner from the stuff in the store. We bought a few things to have with our freeze-dried food. The water level at Lake Powell is so low that people can't put in boats at the "marina," so it's pretty deserted, but I think the Park Service requires the concessionaire to keep the store and trailers open. The stars from our trailer were amazing--I've never seen the Milky Way in such detail.
