My total for Sunday was 86.2 miles, average 10.2 mph. I had dinner at the Peaks of Otter lodge, then went back to the campsite to hang up my food (some fig newtons and trail mix) so bears wouldn't get it. While I was in the woods trying to throw a line over a branch, one of the motorcyclists camped near me said "Hey! Guy in the green shirt! There's a bear behind you!" Sure enough, there was a bear shambling through the woods about 150 feet away. It didn't pay any attention to me or my food. The next morning, it walked through the campground in the other direction, and I got this blurry picture of it. I saw a couple of other bears on the trip, one right next to the road while I was sitting in a rest area, and one in the woods as I rode by.
