It rained off and on through the night, ending at about 8 a.m. At slightly higher elevations, it was snow. The day was cold, probably upper 30s to low 40s, and my left achilles tendon was hurting. I came to the tiny town of Seneca, Oregon, on US Route 395, and stayed at the Bearcat Lodge. It's a bed-and-breakfast for motorcyclists, but the owner took pity and let me stay there. Total for the day: 53.1 miles, average 9.9 mph.
